Wee! Aeon Cinemas are about over... another project come and gone. Big R&D push for the next project starts next week, involving lots of cartoony stuff, facial stuff, and mocap stuff.

I had wanted to post some other news earlier about something, but since it took so long for me to actually get to updating, I've completely forgotten whatever news it was. Ah well...

Ooops. Another month gone by...

Updates, updates. Well, the feedback from Stubbs has been great. For those that haven't seen it, check it out at www.theanimationfarm.com. I think I've done a few things since then... yes? maybe? ah yes, some pipeline development and customizing things for the farm. Always fun stuff.

Since before Siggraph (which btw was great - it was awesome to meet everyone and catch up with old and new friends), we've been doing Aeon cinemas, which we'll be finishing up in a few weeks.

And then.... on to a huge project. Actually, probably multiple projects as always :)

More to come on that... possibly a press release soon(?)

06-14-2005

The Hires, special Stubbs cinema will be online soon! I'm also hoping to run through a ton of site updates, as it is badly needed. Perhaps even a new look is in order as well. As always, email me if you want to get in contact!

06-04-2005

Well looky there, another couple months gone. Quickie Update: Our Stubbs the Zombie trailer is online! check it out at MTV's site . Ignore the windows media player quality, we'll have a highres, kickass version online on this site and theanimationfarm.com's site soon enough.

We also did another political cartoon animation for the state of California, so that should be online shortly as well.

In the meantime, I'll be working on more maya pipeline tools, and anything pipeline related. Ahhh, R&D is fun :)

more updates coming soon... hopefully without a 2 month gap!

04-06-2005

Yikes. Been awhile since the last update.... so where do I begin? For starters, the Biscuit Brothers season starts on KLRU this weekend - new pig and horse animations will be on there!

Other news... i've had my hand in a few different projects at work, the latest one dealing with some E3 zombie fun, so stay tuned for that.

Ah! This friday (the 8th), the Advanced Rigging and Deformations book comes out! Look for it on amazon or your local bookstore, and be sure to check out the chapter I did on facial rigging. And then of course, don't forget to email me with your thoughts :)

Happy New Year!

I figured its time for an update since my article just went up yesterday. A huge 7 page review on The Making of Leon, MuscleTK, and interview with Karim is the current cover story at www.cgchannel.com. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Other news... Where do I start? The advanced rigging book is nearing its deadline, I should be hearing from SP in Atlanta soon about Hank and Hip Hop, I should be listed on IMDB fairly soon (whenever they update a credit listing), and we're in full swing with multiple projects at work! Woooo! Stay tuned for more info about the PBS show we're animating for - I'll be able to put up the pilot show animations soon (whenever i get the time).

Again, any comments or questions about the review, please feel free to send me an email.

Wooo! Vacation time! We put in a ton of extra hours doing 4 spots for MTV last week, so it's vacation time til the new year! The spots will air sometime in January.

I now have rigging credits in The Adventures of Hank and Hip Hop, a production that was secretly done in Atlanta this past year. I'll have more news on that after the 1st of the year. I've also completed a book cover for Mike McShaffry (Game Coding Complete, 2nd edition). You can check out the book here.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Weeee 3Dec has come and gone. Huge thanks goes out to Keith Lango for the awesome presentation he gave tonight, and thanks to Brad and Mike for making that happen. Really, really great stuff. For those that missed it, check out austin3d.com - we may be putting up some notes.

In work news, Demon Stone for the PC comes out in a few days (i worked on it back in March) and The Bed Bugs movie (did 60+ char rigs for) is in DVD production! Other production stuff is in the works, but you know... NDAs.

The Biscuit Bros airs tomorrow on PBS (local only), so if anyone in the Austin area has a chance, check it out. All the animation stuff was done by us at the farm.

...all for now...

10-30-2004

*whistles* A month already?

Time flies when you're having fun... I've been doing some modeling and rigging for <beeeeep> and <beeeep> and also some texturing for <beeeeeeeep>. Ah yeah, Brad and I also helped out <beeeeeep> with <beeeeeeep>. Hrm... damn NDA's.

The usergroup went well a couple weeks ago, it was a great turnout for the first Maya UG meeting in here forever. Check out Austin3D.com for updates on future stuff.... or just to chat with austinites about 3D. Mike H is organizing 3December here (you can see more info about 3Dec on Alias's site next week), and we're happy to say that animator god Keith Lango will be here for that!!

I've also just updated a couple things on the site... nothing big though :) I keep meaning to update content, but where does the time go? Back to finishing up something for Brad Clark and John Hood's advanced rigging book.... (which is now listed on amazon.com!)

09-25-2004

Man, the months sure do fly by...

We finished up the BloodRayne2 cinemas at the first of the month, and then I went on to doing some green screen and rotoscoping work for a children's DVD called Zowzoo. That was a quick project, and now we're working on a super secret project that I won't be able to talk about for awhile... :)

In other news, Brad Clark, Mike Hadwin, and I are getting the Austin Maya user group rolling again, and we'll be presenting on how we handled the Pig production at the Farm. The date for the meeting looks like it'll be Oct 14th. Email me for any more info. I am also continuing to help Brad with his Advanced Rigging book, so stay tuned for that to get published in the coming months!

08-29-2004

Ahh time for an update. Nothing too new since the last one, just finishing up the cinema work this weekend. It's been awhile since I updated any of the pics/animation sections, so maybe I'll have some time <chuckle> to do that in the next few weeks.

08-16-2004

Quick 8am Update before work... Siggraph was awesome! I met so many people there and learned so much! I'll get around to emailing everyone as soon as I get some free time. If anyone happened to pick up the Siggraph Edition of Animation Magazine, flip towards the center and check out the article on Maya 6 - which includes a short interview with me :)

Also, right before siggraph, I helped a friend out with rigging on an Air Jamaica contract, as well as more rigs from our favorite east coast production... the Bed Bugs.

Anyway, back to Bloodrayne2 cinemas!

----------

06-17-2004

Small update... our work on the 'pig' over at The Animation Farm should be wrapping up soon, and hopefully we'll move right onto the next project. Keep an eye out for it... I'll definitely be posting when it's done. I'm also still rigging for the Bed Bugs Movie... must be around 50-60 characters done so far for it. I expect that to wrap up soon as well.

In between all of that, I've helped out on some rigging for a video in Madonna's World Tour (for the Vivax group in LA), as well as some special stuff for Lockheed & Martin :)

More to come!

05-22-2004

Yikes, no updates for awhile! My time is short these days between work, contracts, and well... every day life, so here's a quick update. I'm currently working at The Animation Farm in beautiful Austin, TX, but still doing contract work for Shepherds-Pie Productions in Atlanta.

We're doing game cinematics (among other things) here at the Farm, and I'm still doing rigs for Shepherds Pie (about to hit rig #42). I'll try to update my gallery and animation pages soon (yes, I have a new gallery system behind closed doors here to show off all my work in a cleaner and friendlier format) and maybe even open up my forums...

In other news, look for some good reviews to hit cgchannel soon, and perhaps some news about the Workshop that is coming to Austin this summer - put on by Massive Black here in town. Good stuff!

- back to work -

02-27-2004

Well, I had a good bday yesterday. Still doing contract work, and hopefully have more coming in after this one. Also actively looking for a fulltime gig, so if you're here to check my stuff out, feel free to browse around! Scroll down to read some more news, or just start clicking links :)

I've added the jawHead rig to the animations page - the model was done by Pete Egbers and rigged by myself.

02-08-2004

Still working on a contract for doing the rigs for the Bed Bugs Movie, as well as some work for the Dinoville Adventures.

I just recieved this image for the Fightbox PC Game! We did the highres shots on the game box cover - check it out here.

01-25-2004

Just a quick update - I'm still doing contract rigging work on 2 productions. They've been keeping me quite busy. Still actively looking for a fulltime gig as well.

Any employers, check out my rigging and animation reels, and check out the images page for any models/textures.

And as always, email me :)

01-08-2004

In between contracts now, I've been working on a texture for a low poly model that I did recently. Check it out on the 3D Images page.

Keep in mind, its just a WIP. :)

Quick links - texture, model

01-03-2004

Happy New Year everyone! Updated the Images page and fixed a few minor things.

Still looking for a fulltime job and more contract work... Check out my animation reel and rigging reel! (also the animation page for more videos)

Also added my Maya 5 Review and Jeff Lew DVD review articles (for cgchannel.com) to my Tutorial (F1) page and Download page. They're in PDF form. The vids for the Maya 5 review can be found there as well. Both are still archived on cgchannel.com.

Btw, I am now currently in beautiful Austin, TX! :D

12-23-2003

Updated my resume pages, and added my Animation Reel. Still subject to change ;)

Modeling reel coming soon. And don't forget to check out the Rigging Reel!

12-21-2003

Happy Holidays everyone! I'll be in Texas next week (woohoo!), so here's a couple updates first.

I'm currently finishing up a contract with my friend Damon for a few rigs, and I've started another contract doing more rigging work (yay!).

I've also hunted down an older animation file, and added it to the animation page. (its down towards the bottom - the alley scene)

Also expect a new review on cgchannel in the near future :)

12-03-2003

Lack of updates for a couple weeks.... still waiting on job news. Freelance, fulltime, whatever... just hire me :D

My animation/modeling reel will be up soon... and this will be in it - a lip sync test with the Lazarus Sony character. You can see the animation here or images here.

For those that missed it, my review of Jeff Lew's DVD went well... for me and Jeff (thanks again Jeff).

11-20-2003

Well, I'm back from the wedding! I'll be working on a lip sync on the Sony character while I wait for JOB news :)

My DVD review of Jeff Lew's Learning 3D Character Animation is finally up on cgchannel.com! Hope everyone enjoys it, and as always, email me if there's any questions :)

(Also, don't forget to check out my latest rigging reel)

11-10-2003

Here's a new Rigging Reel that I put together this weekend. It doesnt include my Sony rig and a couple other rigs that I plan on adding. It's just a rigging compilation of some cool characters that I've worked on, so check it out! I'll be adding to it as I get more animations of them. Oh yeah, it does include a certain Konami character ;)

I'll be gone from Wed to Sunday for my brother's wedding this week (Congrats Mike!), but if you're an employer looking to contact me, you've got my cell # and email!

(Also compressed my show reel into 1 file)

11-06-2003

Going through some Fightbox material, and decided to render out some more images as I prepare to show the rigs in my new reel. So, I've added pics of Kodiak! Check 'em out, and don't forget to scroll down and see my other recent updates ;)

Oh yeah, my review of Jeff Lew's Learning 3D Character Animation will go up on cgchannel.com soon!

11-05-2003

Ok, new update. Here's a teaser image of what I'm animating for my new reel. This is the project we did for Sony's Ghosthunter. I did the rig only, but impressive images to say the least ;)

More info to come. For now, check out the rest of my news below, or navigate to my animation and images pages for more goodies. Also, be sure to check cgchannel.com later this week - I have a new review going up!

10-31-2003

Two updates in one day..wooo! This time its another animation with a Fightbox character - Versuveus! Kung Fu animation done by a friend over in the UK :)

------------

Alright, a small update. I've just added a movie showing off my cyclops rig - its about 3 min long. Anyone into rigging or animating, might wanna check it out :)

(And of course, potential employers too!)

-----------

So I'm thinking about opening this forum up, but I'm wondering if anyone would visit it as a resource for RIGGING. There are a couple other forums out there that will have general rigging topics, but I dont think anyone actually thinks of them as a _good_ rigging resource.

Well, if anyone feels like giving me an opinion, feel free. :)

10-28-2003

Ok, the animation weight test is up. I did it in about 4 days, off and on. Making that jump from good animation to great animation - so I may be updating it as time goes on. This is using IKJoe v3 - I wanted to see how well Lluis's new rig is... and I like it :) Comments are welcome.

On another note, If anyone can explain why a Divx 5.04 video comes out at 12 megs, when the same video comes out at 1 meg in Divx 4.... please let me know :)

10-??-2003
Ahhh a 4am update. I'll post an unfinished, in progress animation tomorrow. My own personal test is coming good. Feels good to animate something! I also just got inspired by some good news of something that I'm not allowed to say yet.... Gasp! Maybe soon....Maybe I'll just put a hidden link to what I'm talking about...
10-22-2003

Well, I've been doing almost nothing but rigs for 7 months or so, so I've decided to start making more game content - models, textures, animation. Today, I've started on my own sort of animation test. Planning on finishing it by next week.

10-18-2003

4 new pictures of Fightbox rigs are up.

Lazarus Facial Rig video is up. These will all be going into a new reel shortly. Still looking for a job btw :)

10-13-2003

Fightbox pics are UP, as well as an animation!! Fightbox airs on the BBC3 tonight in the UK. I'll have more Fightbox content coming soon.

Switched hosts flawlessly (no down time), and I may even open up a rigging forum. I'll see if theres any interest in that.

10-09-2003 Added the Camel pics on the sculpture page!
10-08-2003

Added the clavicle/shoulder explanation to go with the Maya 5 review. Check it out in the Tutorials section ;)

Added a croc animation to my animation page! It shows off the rig I did for it, which is for the Roger Corman Production. It will be included in the new demo reel shortly. Also fixed a few link problems.

10-07-2003

New site online! The current reel online is my old reel. New reel (including Fightbox content) coming soon! Feel free to browse the site - I'm adding content daily at this point. I am currently available for freelance/fulltime work - Sample Rigs are available by request if you're interested in a rigger!!

In other news, the Maya 5 review done by myself and Xen Wildman is up on CGChannel! Feel free to drop me a question about any parts of it, although I mainly handled the animation/mel/rigging parts.
